Ambitious.Africa, a young initiative that aspires to be the bridge between Africa and the Nordics, partnered up with the technology group Wärtsilä.

Ambitious.Africa and Wärtsilä have joined in a strategic partnership based on their mutual values and goals towards supporting youth in Africa and Europe in international collaboration towards a sustainable future.

Ambitious.Africa supports and encourages young people to be active participants in the change of Africa and the Nordics for a better future. It aims to increase wellbeing and happiness in these countries by facilitating the sustainable development of local entrepreneurship. It supports initiatives that develop and provide knowledge, skills, and products related to global needs as well as local ones - like Wärtsilä. These days, Wärtsilä aims to direct its focus towards more sustainable and renewable energy solutions, as well as opening its gates for young talented people. As one of Wärtsilä biggest markets is Africa, their goal is to also support young people and reach young talents in Africa.

“From Ambitious.Africa’s perspective, the partnership provides great opportunities especially for the community and young people involved in it. The partnership is an invaluable opportunity for Ambitious.Africa and the young people involved to learn about the corporate world and learn how to be in charge from the experienced professionals,” says Vincent Forsman, co-founder of Ambitious.Africa.

“The challenges we face as a society, from education to income inequality, and civil rights to healthcare and climate change, are crying for novel ideas and solutions. As a company with a long history, both in Africa and the Nordics, we know the real benefit of joining forces across a broad spectrum of ideas and talent. Through our partnership with Ambitious.Africa, we seek to engage student and entrepreneur communities to muster the true strength of a digitally native generation whose ideas are not limited by geography or politics. My hope is that we untap the magic of boundaryless creativity, and my dream is that many future leaders will rise through this partnership to change the world for the better,” explained Björn Ullbro, Vice President, Africa & Europe at Wärtsilä Energy.

In 2021, Ambitious.Africa and Wärtsilä start their collaboration with three projects: two of those revolve around local communities in Morocco and Nigeria, and the third project focuses on Nordic and African universities.
