Volunteer Spotlight: Eustacia Morris

By Ambitious.Africa

What inspired you to join Ambitious.Africa?

I fell in love with the cause and what Ambitious.Africa stands for. It was all in line with my values and community goals

Why is Ambitious.Africa's vision/work important to you, as a young African?

I am a young African woman myself who wants to not only develop myself, but also want to develop my continent and create a better life for our future generation, and with Ambitious.Africa I am able to do this with the help of like-minded individuals. We are building a future together.

In your role as Head of Community and HR, what were some of the challenges and success stories?

With the pandemic, we were forced to move everything online and this was a big challenge when it came to managing volunteers and teams across the globe, all online. We made it work, but it was not easy. The success was the personal and career growth of volunteers and upskilling of community members.

What experience(s) were most memorable?

The first memories that come to mind of when I first joined Ambitious.Africa was the super friendly and welcoming team. I also enjoyed meeting and interacting with all the team leads and volunteers across the globe. I have seen some amazing development in myself and the various communities I have been part of.

I see a big difference from when I joined to where I am now. I have grown on a personal and professional level and also grown my networks, all through Ambitious.Africa. I will be forever grateful to the Ambitious team for their guidance and support.
